xenlab on the ones and zeros

a contemplative and gritty mix full of harsh electronics and mad glitch. after it causes a ruckus with bastard-pop-mashups in the middle, it drives home with a strong percussive finish.

Dirty Nipple Mix (Live at Back Booth - April 19, 2004)

Performed live at Randy Garcia’s Birthday party. Its a little sloppy, but I liked the concept behind this mini-mix enough to post it here for you to enjoy. So go ahead, and dip your tittie into it, and lets get dirty, digitally.

Live at Backbooth - February 9th, 2004 (2nd Set - “Secret Nector Excretion” mix)

My second set of this night. Picks you up from where the the first set left you crying on the curb. Multiple brain frequencies are assaulted as the breakthink modulations all fight for your attention. Don’t worry, only 40% of your brain cells will die as the result of listening to this mix.

Caveat Emptor, Matris Futuor!

Live at Backbooth - February 9th, 2004 (1st Set)

This mix starts out meditative and a little dubby. And keeps your head nodding until the very end. That is, until it turns on you about half way through and ups the glitch ante. Then your head nodding, turns into some well placed sonic face slaps. Don’t cringe, its good for you!

This was my first set of the night. The second set can be found in another post. The mix draws from tracks that I put in other mixes. It was done during a time when I was toying with the idea of creating mixes from mixed segments… In other words, piecing together other mix segments into a new mix… sort of like William S. Burrough’s cut-up technique. Listening back to it now, I can hear parts of Meow Mix and Independent Thinker.

This one should leave you in weird place.
