Local favorite, A_Scissors has a slew of new tracks on his myspace page. Well worth the trip for those wanting the latest dose of analogue madness from one of the brightest minds in the Central Florida scene. If you like that, you’ll love his album.

The Trons

Every day brings more competition to the working musician. Increasingly its by our robot overlords.

Frankenloop is a Reaktor powered step sequencer made by Peter Dines. You take a basic pitch modulator but then spice in some randomness so that as it plays through the generator loop is sounds different every time. A great tool for generating crazy subtractive synth sounds. It also speaks MIDI, so driving other soft synths and your external gear is well within its power. Best of all its free and released under a Creative Commons license.

The Beavis Board is a beginning electronics DIYer’s dream. US$249 buys you a full kit of everything you need to wire up your own guitar pedals, newbie-friendly – no soldering, no parts hunting, no … actual thinking required. Of course, what’s likewise wonderful about that is you can tool around with all different combinations. The crawl of possible circuit layouts reads like one of those infomercials. (Just look at everything you get! Best hits of the 80s! Air conditioner repair!)

A hardware hackers dream, the Coyote-1 Open Stomp is a plug and play reconfigurable effects pedal kit. alGARhythm is going to be all over this when it comes out.
