Using a site called audiko.net I made a ringtone of one of the tracks I did with my buddy, alGARhythm for our Engine Heart project. The track is a little swirly ambient piece, Tremendo Culo. The iPhone faithfully reproduces the track as the 320kps MP3 was converted into an AAC variant (m4r) with very little loss in quality.
If you’ve got an iPhone - download the track now, and sync it to your device using iTunes. There are other formats too, so you can enjoy it (ha!) on less capable devices.
Its interesting how some sound palettes just impart that space age feel to the song. This is one of them. At the risk of sounding cliche, this track has the feeling of orbiting the earth at 20,000 miles per hour, but at the same time retains the same kind of awe inspiring wonder that floating above your home planet inspires - like many a synth melody driven track.
This track evokes a kind of reluctant nostalgia and earnest soul searching that only ambient music (both making and listening) can evoke. This is a beat-less piece, with a subtle shaped buzz-hum standing in as a baseline to the delicate piano melody that dominates this track.
